Ghoulies 2 title

Tag line : They'll Get YOURS in the End!

Ghoulies 2Despite the first "Ghoulies" film being critically panned by all and sundry, it still made an awful lot of money for producer Charles Band, thanks to its deceptively devious advertising campaign. So a sequel was duly commissioned. Thankfully, although no cinematic masterpiece, this proved to be a vast improvement over it's predecessor.

This time, the Ghoulies hitch a ride with a travelling carnival and take up residence in the "Satan's Den" horror house attraction. Needless to say, some of the people who go inside fail to come out again. Of course, other people don't realise these creatures are not part of the props and once word gets about about these realistic creatures, ticket sales start going through the roof. Much to the amazement of the owners who don't realise what's going on.

But as more people start going missing inside the attraction, it becomes increasingly clear something's very wrong indeed, and when the Ghoulies decide to emerge and go on the rampage in the carnival, removing safety pins from the fair ground rides and causing havoc on the rifle range (producing some of the films more amusing moments) the owners realise they've got a major problem on their hands.

Starring a number of well known horror B-movie actors, including Bill Butler, Phill Fondacaro and former Western actor Royal Dano, whilst the film was a vast improvement over the original and did have some amusing moments I wouldn't have really classed this as a "comedy" as such, and was more of a low budget horror. However, it was still quite entertaining and was more how the original should have been, So I would say was worth a watch.

Overall Marks : 4/10.
